UFC 274 | Prelim Preview
Saturday, May 7th (10:00 PM EST Main Card, 8:00 PM EST Prelims, 5:30 PM EST Early Prelims)
Randy Brown vs. Khaos Williams
WATCH - Khaos Williams might be the most powerful puncher in the welterweight division. Started his UFC career with two straight KO victories that took place in the first 30 seconds of the fight! He’s now 4-1 in the UFC and in need of bigger and badder tests which makes Randy Brown the perfect opponent for him. A tough veteran who rarely loses to anyone except for ranked fighters and finds an exciting balance between grappling and striking. This should be a banger!
Francisco Trinaldo vs. Danny Roberts
WATCH - These two are getting up their in age but are still churning out enough victories and excitement to warrant some attention. Welterweight is a deep enough division to make this fight largely irrelevant to the rankings picture. However, this still should be good and even the least watched fighters can become relevant with a long enough win streak.
MMAalgo Bet - Danny Roberts 3.5u @ -105 (better than -125.0)
Macy Chiasson vs. Norma Dumont
BATHROOM BREAK - “And next up is a fight in the women’s featherweight division”… alright any one need anything from the store?
Brandon Royval vs. Matt Schnell
WATCH - The people’s main card event! Once again the UFC has wrongfully discriminated against the men’s flyweight division by placing two top 10 ranked fighters on the prelims. #6 Royval has been a must watch storm of chaos since entering the UFC and going up against another high level and experienced opponent like #9 Schnell practically guarantees that Royval will be delivering us flyweight loyals another certified banger!
Marcos Rogerio de Lima vs. Blagoy Ivanov
BATHROOM BREAK (UNLESS LIMA KOs HIM RIGHT AWAY THEN WE TOLD YOU TO WATCH IT) - Lima is aging like a fine wine. #15 Ivanov is aging like a glass of milk. Please join us in prayer for a quick knockout so that we can save our souls from bearing witness to the horrors of a decision bound heavyweight fight on the early prelims.
Andre Fialho vs. Cameron VanCamp
WATCH - Fialho just debuted in the UFC in January and is already fighting for the 3rd time in 5 months! And the first 2 fights he had were absolute bangers showing toughness in his debut loss and impressive power in his bounce back victory. Fialho should be on everyone’s short lists for unranked welterweights to watch, especially if he can put on an entertaining victory over the debuting VanCamp this Saturday.
Tracy Cortez vs. Melissa Gatto
WATCH - Remember that thing we said earlier about win streaks making you relevant? Well look no further, because both of these women’s flyweight fighters are sporting perfect UFC records and are bashing heads in a prospect vs prospect match up. Surprised to see the UFC matchmake like this for such a shallow division, but it should help propel the winner to the spotlight and get her on the fast track to the rankings and hopefully to being a new contender. High risks involved for the loser though, derailments like this can permanently ruin careers, as a single loss gets you fed to the veteran wolves.
MMAalgo Bet - Melissa Gatto 3.5u @ +125 (better than -130.8)
Kleydson Rodrigues vs. CJ Vergara
WATCH - MORE FLYWEIGHTS! MORE! You are watching this fight and it’s non-negotiable!
Ariane Carnelossi vs. Loopy Godinez
BATHROOM BREAK - Carnelossi is a really fun fighter. Godinez is a really boring fighter. Usually that means the boring fighter boringly beats the fun fighter. Although this is unranked women’s strawweight so armbar submission out of nowhere in the first round is always a possibility.
Journey Newson vs. Fernie Garcia
SORT OF WATCH IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE DOING OTHER STUFF - Awful journeyman vs moderately hyped debutante. You’ve seen it before. Different names, different faces, same fight.
