UFC 281 | Main Card Preview
Saturday, November 12th (10:00 PM EST Main Card, 8:00 PM EST Prelims, 6:00 PM EST Early Prelims)
Israel Adesanya vs. Alex Pereira
WATCH - Mario has reached Bowser’s castle! We’ve waited forever for a true challenger to the middleweight throne. It’s been 3 years and 5 successful defenses after champion Adesanya unified the belt, and hope was fleeting among the fans that we would ever see an exciting title fight again. But we heard tall tales from afar, that before Adesanya became the world beater, who easily dances around and pokes his opponents to death (death being losing a decision), that there was one man who could challenge him. A fellow champion from the world of kickboxing who had the courage to stand strong against Adesanya and risk everything to knock him out. Still it felt impossible when this old kickboxing rival entered the MMA world that he could ever climb the heights that Adesanya had. But the impossible has happened. 4 straight dominating wins later and Mario has arrived at Browser’s castle, ready to save our peachy love of violence that’s been hidden away.

Carla Esparza vs. Zhang Weili
WATCH - We only deal in parallels here, so get ready for some more heroes of violence against champions of pillowy death. Weili could’ve faded into irrelevancy after her reign as champ came to an end, but an incredible spinning backfist KO in a rematch against a fighter she’s already been to war with has her right back in a title fight. And this time she’s the hero instead of the villain in Thug Rose’s way.

Dustin Poirier vs. Michael Chandler
WATCH - We don’t often get perfect fights when it’s perfect to make them. But wow is the UFC delivering here! #5 Michael Chandler may not be champ be he is on top of the world after his incredible front kick KO over the popular but aging Tony Ferguson. And #2 Dustin Poirier may not be champ but his shocking back to back finish victories over world famous Conor McGregor are still fresh in everyone’s minds. Leave it to lightweight, to give us not one, but two heroes of violence!
Frankie Edgar vs. Chris Gutierrez
WATCH - How many times can an aging Frankie Edgar get knocked out in a row? The answer is at least 2 and we’re about to see how high that number can go. (Warning: This fight is not for fans of this former champ or for the weak of heart)
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Goes The Distance 1u @ -125 (better than -150.8)
Dan Hooker vs. Claudio Puelles
WATCH - It’s never a great look when you go down a division just to get beat to pieces in the 1st round. And it’s never an easy decision to have to give up on getting a ranked opponent and stoop down to fighting unranked and incredibly young up and coming killers. But this is what this sport is all about. Not coasting off successes from forever ago, or building a name off of pretend challenges. But real adversity, and having to risk it all just to stay afloat even when its only been 2 years since you were top 5 and sniffing at a title fight. This is the true brutality of the sport, that turns many away, but keeps the hardcore fans always coming back for more.
MMAalgo Bet - Claudio Puelles 3.5u @ +125 (better than -125.8)
