UFC 285 | Main Card Preview

weeklycasual.substack.com

Saturday, March 4th (10:00 PM EST Main Card, 8:00 PM EST Prelims, 5:30 PM EST Early Prelims)

Jon Jones vs. Ciryl Gane

WATCH - No other violence compares. No other belt has the same weight to it. No other champion is truly a king upon a throne. There is no fight but the heavyweight belt. No other showdown at any other weight, in any other league, or any other sport, will ever compare to the epiceness that is the UFC heavyweight championship. It is the clash of the titans, as the gods of war decide who truly is the biggest killer on the planet. And killer’s beware as a newly juiced up and reinvigorated former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones makes his heavyweight debut.

FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Does Not Go The Distance 1u @ +100 (better than -186.3)

Valentina Shevchenko vs. Alexa Grasso

BATHROOM BREAK - Can we just skip to the Erin Blanchfield title challenge already?

FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Goes The Distance 1u @ +146 (better than -176.7)

Geoff Neal vs. Shavkat Rakhmonov

WATCH - #9 welterweight Shavkat may not have the renown of the caucus killers like Khabib and Khamzat, but he is just as undefeated, and just as terrifying. #7 Neal might be feeling high after he shocked the MMA world by knocking out Vicente Luque, but you’d be mistaken to think he’s playing any role in this fight other than that of the veteran gatekeeper.

Mateusz Gamrot vs. Jalin Turner

WATCH - #7 Gamrot might’ve hit his ceiling in his last fight, which could’ve been a lightweight title eliminator. Now it’s his turn to be the ceiling for #10 Turner’s booming career. It’s a dog eat dog world in the deepest division in mixed martial arts.

MMAalgo Bet - Jalin Turner 3u @ +175 (better than -129.4)

Bo Nickal vs. Jamie Pickett

WATCH - It doesn’t matter what tomato can they put against him, Bo Nickal is already a superstar in not only his UFC debut but his 4th ever pro MMA bout. The three time NCAA Division 1 champion is easily the most hyped UFC debut since Michael Chandler.
