UFC London | Main Card Preview
Saturday, July 23rd (3:00 PM EST Main Card, 12:00 PM EST Prelims)
Curtis Blaydes vs. Tom Aspinall
WATCH - And we're back with another London card in the O2 Arena. Will it be another fairy tale night where the British fighters dispose of their opponents with ease? Probably not. First sign of that is a quick look at this main event, and some horribly risky matchmaking. The UFC has decided to stick the most hyped up, exciting, young heavyweight in #6 Aspinall against the most boring of all veterans and top 5 gatekeepers in #4 Blaydes. Sure the high is very high in which Aspinall could simultaneously strip the lay-and-pray wrestling Blaydes down from main event status while cementing his own deserved shot at the belt. But the low is very low in which Blaydes could derail Aspinall's hype train and the UFC would find itself in the awkward position of having a clear top contender who has already lost to the champ by knockout twice.
MMAalgo Bet - Curtis Blaydes 3.5u @ +110 (better than -138.0)
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Does Not Go The Distance 1u @ -300 (better than -377.4)
Jack Hermansson vs. Chris Curtis
WATCH - Here we have our second indication that this will not be the British dream scenario they enjoyed last time around, as fan favorite Darren Till already fell out of this card and is replaced by the relatively unknown and unranked Chris Curtis. He has powerful hands and has found a lot of success in his UFC run so far but he's already 35 so this isn't exactly a prospect. Plus he's going to need to show a lot more grappling ability than he has in the past if he's going to get past #8 gatekeeper Hermansson.
Paddy Pimblett vs. Jordan Leavitt
WATCH - Alright you casual, here's the one you skipped down the page to read. To be honest it's not the most exciting prospect fight of all time. If Paddy is who he says he is, he demolishes Leavitt on the feet and it's an early night. This bout only gets interesting if they somehow find themselves on the ground, which is Leavitt's strong suit, but the monkey king is still a mediocre lightweight who has benefited from easy matchmaking and hilarious post-fight antics. Sound like anyone we know? In the end, it doesn't matter if this is another tomato can for Paddy. If he wins, and wins big, the hype train will still be sailing to the moon. And if he loses, even if Leavitt is a future champ, it will destroy Paddy's popularity overnight.
MMAalgo Bet - Jordan Leavitt 3.5u @ +205 (better than -111.0)
Nikita Krylov vs. Alexander Gustafsson
BATHROOM BREAK - You gotta know when to walk away. At least #11 Krylov has the excuse of still being ranked and having his decline at such a young age that it's hard to tell when to stop. Gustafsson is 35 and has already failed 3 title shots. Not to mention in his last fight back in 2020 he looked absolutely dreadful. This has all the makings of a classically garbage light heavyweight snoozer.
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Does Not Go The Distance 1u @ -175 (better than -210.5)
Molly McCann vs. Hannah Goldy
WATCH - Meatball Molly! The only women's flyweight fighter capable of damaging their opponent!
Paul Craig vs. Volkan Oezdemir
WATCH - #8 Paul Craig is going to do it. He's going to become a UFC champion. It doesn't matter if you knock him down. Beat him up. You could stab him repeatedly. Pull a gun out and shoot him point blank in the chest. Nothing will stop him from submitting you from his back out of nowhere. #9 light heavyweight Oezdemir should start running for the hills.
MMAalgo Bet - Paul Craig 3.5u @ +135 (better than -110.6)
