UFC Vegas 56 | Main Card Preview
Saturday, June 4th (4:00 PM EST Main Card, 1:00 PM EST Prelims)
Alexander Volkov vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik
WATCH - There is only one type of #8 Rozenstruik fight that isn’t excruciating to watch, and that is a fight in which you blink, hear a thud, and one of them falls over unconscious. #7 Volkov is certainly more talented and has put on some fun performances but none of that matters against a fighter like Rozenstruik. A fighter who turtles up and runs away until he sees an opportunity for a knock out blow, like a bargain bin Yoel Romero. As with most heavyweight fights, this better end quickly or we’re all going to sleep.
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Does Not Go The Distance 1u @ -150 (better than -316.5)
Dan Ige vs. Movsar Evloev
WATCH - #13 featherweight Movsar Evloev has every last criteria checked off that screams future champion. Undefeated, late 20s, insane arm length, dominant wrestling, intelligent striking, and most importantly, he hails from the Caucasus Mountains. We’d even argue that his fights all ending in decision are a huge plus since they demonstrate that he has the skills, tactics, and endurance to win fights against tough opponents and isn’t relying on more fluky early knockouts to quickly rise up the rankings. That being said, that criteria can be a curse since it’s hard for the UFC to market yet another decision-bot Caucasus fighter. And unfortunately for him, while #10 Dan Ige might be the easiest ranked fighter in the division, he has an iron chin which is unlikely to crack.
Michael Trizano vs. Lucas Almeida
BATHROOM BREAK - Mike Trizano has more losses than wins at featherweight, and Lucas Almeida is getting his UFC debut after losing on the contender series. This is going to be one rough fight night card!
Karine Silva vs. Poliana Botelho
BATHROOM BREAK - Awful journey(wo)man vs moderately hyped debutante! It’s everybody’s (least) favorite fight on every card!
Ode Osbourne vs. Zarrukh Adashev
WATCH - You can tell how desperate the UFC is by how high up flyweights find themselves on a card. Thankfully for us, the UFC came to their senses and allowed a men’s flyweight fight on the main card.
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Goes The Distance 1u @ -105 (better than -164.7)
Alonzo Menifield vs. Askar Mozharov
WATCH - Easily the most interesting debut fight on the card. First off, Askar Mozharov is a young, powerful finisher, from Ukraine, and the UFC really really really needs light heavyweights right now. Second off, Alonzo Menifield… wait nevermind just the first thing. Forgot how garbage Menifield is. Well that’s it folks, have fun enjoying the GREATEST fight night card of all time and please try to restrain your excitement!
