UFC Vegas 59 | Main Card Preview
Saturday, August 6th (10:00 PM EST Main Card, 7:00 PM EST Prelims)
Thiago Santos vs. Jamahal Hill
WATCH - #6 Thiago Santos has only gotten slower with age. A fighter that used to be a guaranteed banger hasn't been in a lick of real action in his last 13 rounds as a fighter. A loss here, especially by decision, might see him pushed into retirement by the UFC. Out with the old, and in with the new most exciting fighter in the light heavyweight division, #10 Jamahal Hill. In his last 5 fights, he finished 4 of them in the first 2 rounds. With that impressive power and little experience in later rounds, it's safe to say that everyone but Santos' parents are rooting for an early finish in this one.
Vicente Luque vs. Geoff Neal
WATCH - #6 Luque is coming off a hype-derailing loss after he had worked so hard for years to build a win-streak based upon his exciting style. #13 Neal is coming off a razor-tight win after two miserable years of injury, losses, and inactivity. This is an elite crossroads fight, between a rebounding popular fighter and a hopeful afterthought. The winner belongs, and the loser never did.
MMAalgo Bet - Vicente Luque 3.5u @ -180 (better than -242.8)
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Goes The Distance 1u @ +110 (better than -153.7)
Mohammed Usman vs. Zac Pauga
BATHROOM BREAK - Alright you got two real fights. That was the best we could do. Take it or leave it. Now onto a fight that would make more sense as a co-main on a Jake Paul boxing card. The terrible brother of Usman who recently had a terrible showing in the PFL somehow made it through the terrible new season of The Ultimate Fighter and is now fighting in the heavyweight tournament finale. Did I forget to mention earlier that this was the TUF Finale card? That's because no one cares. Unless you talk funny (looking at you Britain and Ireland) or are the 10th cousin of Khabib, no one cares about hyped up debuts anymore. Especially with how awful these TUF fighters have done in the UFC lately. If they wanted a UFC contract so badly they could've just fought on DWCS which runs every week.
Brogan Walker vs. Juliana Miller
BATHROOM BREAK - Did you ever hear the tragedy of Spike Carlyle the Alpha Ginger? I thought not. It's not a story the UFC would tell you.
Augusto Sakai vs. Serghei Spivac
WATCH - We take back everything we've said about the UFC. Their matchmaking is always intelligent and TUF is still good! Because Sergey Spivak is finally getting the match-up he's always deserved! He's still a baby at heavyweight at 27 years of age but has struggled to get a firm footing in the rankings whenever he gets some momentum. Constantly treated like a permanent prelims journeyman even though he delivered both Tai Tuivasa and Alexey Oleynik their most recent losses. All the struggle ends this weekend when Spivak can finally get the launch pad he needs with a win against #14 Sakai, a collapsing fighter who has been the easiest fight in the rankings for a while now and is on a 3-fight loss streak all by KO/TKO. If we jinxed this for Sergey we will never forgive ourselves.
Ariane Lipski vs. Priscila Cachoeira
BATHROOM BREAK - The UFC will never stop trying to make Lipski a thing.
MMAalgo Bet - Ariane Lipski 3.5u @ -175 (better than -199.7)
