UFC Vegas 63 | Main Card Preview
Saturday, October 29th (7:00 PM EST Main Card, 4:00 PM EST Prelims)
Calvin Kattar vs. Arnold Allen
WATCH - #5 Calvin Kattar makes the best fight night main events by a mile. The man goes the distance landing and absorbing punches like he’s trying to break significant strike records every fight. His boxing is crisp and even when unmatched he has an exceptional willpower few people possess allowing him to keep going no matter how much damage he takes. No better person to welcome #6 Arnold Allen to the very top of the featherweight division, where we truly find out what men are made of. Allen is your typical hyped up and beloved Englishman who has more criminal convictions than quality opponents (in this case the score is 1-0). It’s time to find out if he’s the real deal or if the UFC needs to hit up Cage Warriors for another overhyped Englishman to take his place.
MMAalgo Bet - Arnold Allen 3.5u @ -110 (better than -155.6)
Tim Means vs. Max Griffin
BATHROOM BREAK - Who are these fights for? Can’t stand how the UFC is always throwing together two 75 year old pilgrims in the co-mains as if that elevates the card somehow. If anything it makes the card worse because now you have a pointless and slow semi-retirement fight between the main event and the rest of the card. These guys have been journeymen their whole long dragged-out careers, and we’re supposed to act like its McGregor vs Cowboy.
Waldo Cortes-Acosta vs. Jared Vanderaa
WATCH - Vanderaa isn’t a top level fighter. He’s never going to be the guy you get yourself hyped up about as climbing up the rankings or knocking everyone out. Dana even said as much when he got hired off the contender series. But these are the moments Vanderaa shows up. Job on the line, 1-5 in the UFC, welcoming in a debuter.
Josh Fremd vs. Tresean Gore
BATHROOM BREAK - Gore was supposed to be the best prospect on last year’s TUF season. One year later and all he’s done is prove people wrong. Mandatory for him to turn it around this Saturday if he wants to remain in the UFC.
Dustin Jacoby vs. Khalil Rountree Jr.
WATCH - Enough is enough already, just give the man a ranked opponent! No disrespect to Rountree who is frankly the only exciting light heavyweight journeyman with 5 UFC KO/TKOs but #13 Dustin Jacoby’s 7 fight UFC unbeaten streak deserves more. Especially with his last victory knocking out one of the best unranked light heavyweights in Da Un Jung. No one should have to gatekeep when they are winning every fight.
MMAalgo Bet - Khalil Rountree Jr. 3.5u @ +145 (better than -115.5)
