UFC Vegas 65 | Main Card Preview
Saturday, November 19th (4:00 PM EST Main Card, 1:00 PM EST Prelims)
Derrick Lewis vs. Serghei Spivac
WATCH - There are some who don’t care for a Derrick Lewis fight night card. That will be more people than ever now that he’s fallen to #7 in rankings and has lost 3 out of his last 4. But there's something special about his main events, because you know no matter what you are going to see a quick finish, and likely in a way you’ve never seen before. #12 Spivac isn’t exactly a prospect setting the world on fire, but at 27 he’s a baby in this heavyweight division and his continuous improvements from fight to fight are impressive enough that it isn’t completely ridiculous to claim he could be contending for the title one day. And so we find ourselves in the classic heavyweight situation, of wondering whether the up and comer will make it past the ever violent Derrick Lewis gates.
Kennedy Nzechukwu vs. Ion Cutelaba
WATCH - Welcome to the Moldova card! Not only do we have Spivac getting his big shot at some real heavyweight relevancy but here comes Ion Cutelaba ready to bounce back and remind the world why he should be feared in this division. Both these Moldovan fighters are half the age you’d expect them to be based on how long they’ve already been fighting in the UFC at these heavier weight divisions.
Chase Sherman vs. Waldo Cortes-Acosta
WATCH - Wouldn’t be a big boy card without the unnecessary but absurdly violent unranked heavyweight banger!
Andre Fialho vs. Muslim Salikhov
WATCH - With how desperate he is to land and how little defensive capabilities he has, Fialho is must watch swang and bang tv in a division like welterweight that is usually dominated by boring grapplers. Salikhov, a veteran who is just barely outside the rankings, is the perfect bounce back fight for this young violent man.
MMAalgo Bet - Andre Fialho 3.5u @ -105 (better than -158.9)
Jack Della Maddalena vs. Danny Roberts
WATCH - Two quick dominant finishes later and the very young Australian finds himself in a great position in the UFC. He just needs to keep himself on the hype train tracks before the UFC brass get tired of him and feed him to the terrifying welterweight grapplers.
