UFC Vegas 74 | Preview
Saturday, June 3rd (9:00 PM EST Main Card, 6:00 PM EST Prelims)
Kai Kara-France vs. Amir Albazi
WATCH - There is no quietly into that good night! Flyweights will never have the fame and glory required to walk away on top. Even the GOAT flyweight, Mighty Mouse, is left to crack it out in Singapore until the lights go out. Earning a title shot was a mountainous effort from the ever exciting, improving, and violent Kai Kara-France. And there is no helicopter off this mountain. While waiting for his next opportunity at a shot, Kara-France will face killer after killer after killer coming to slice him open and choke him out. Those begging for the realest, most genuine sport have no better answer than this event. Because this flyweight division is Mount Everest! There is no safe passage up or down, and no real prize awaiting at the top. Only the surreal satisfaction of conquest, survival, and the animalistic pride that has been beating our hearts since the beginning of time.
MMAalgo Bet - Amir Albazi 3u @ -110 (better than -124.7)
Alex Caceres vs. Daniel Pineda
WATCH - They actually did it. Hats off to the UFC for the incredible effort. We really didn’t think they could find someone older and worse than Caceres for Caceres to fight now that he’s snuck into the featherweight rankings but by god was the UFC brass determined to make it happen. Now we’re not suggesting this is all a conspiracy to build up an aging journeyman as some legit ranked fighter on a win streak so they can feed him to a prospect. But…
Jim Miller vs. Jesse Butler
BATHROOM BREAK - Choking out Cowboy last year was the perfect end to a long career and everything after feels like pointless & underwhelming epilogue. And now you’re fighting some guy named Jesse Butler who’s debuting in the UFC? How is that even a real person? He sounds like a local boxer from the 1920s who loses half his fights and works at a meatpacking plant. Although that doesn’t sound too different from Jim Miller’s “legendary” career.
Tim Elliott vs. Victor Altamirano
WATCH - In the beginning there was light, and all the division lived in beautiful “just bleed” violence and harmony. But from the darkness came Tim, hardened by the mediocrity of his pillow hands he pledged to sour and destroy the great flyweight division with unavoidable decisions. Champions came from all around to defeat Tim but despite his losses surpassing his wins he has remained in the flyweight rankings as a great cockroach plague upon us all. For generations men have told prophecies of a hero who will defeat Tim and bring excitement back to the lower flyweight rankings. Praise be the Victor when that day comes.
MMAalgo Bet - Victor Altamirano 3u @ +152 (better than -167.8)
Karine Silva vs. Ketlen Souza
BATHROOM BREAK - Pour one out for the legendary former champion Andrei Arlovski who is a former UFC Heavyweight champion, has won 4 of his last 5 bouts, and now has to fight on the prelims so the UFC could make room on the main card for women’s flyweights no one has ever heard of with a combined 1 UFC fight between the two of them. Sometimes the worst pain isn’t what you face in the octagon. In this case it’s the collective pain of the audience trying to stay awake through this fight.
Abubakar Nurmagomedov vs. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos
WATCH - Nope not that Nurmagomedov. No not that one either. Or that one. Yes this one is still related to the other three. No he is not as good or as hype, do you even see the “1” in the loss column? He has brought great shame to his family, but maybe a win against a former top contender like dos Santos will start him back on the path of redemption.
Daniel Santos vs. Johnny Munoz
FGTDalgo Bet - Fight Goes The Distance 1u @ +180 (better than -154.2)
